You may notice signs that your brake pads have worn.

Your brake pads could be showing signs of wear. The most common is noise. This is typically a grinding and/or squealing noise while braking. Wear on the brake rotor can cause this. Different types of brake pads

There are three types of brake pads. They are made primarily from different materials. Each type's composition is different from one brand to the next. They also differ in terms of dust, noise, and longevity. Some types contain metal compounds, others do not. Although asbestos is a common filler material, it is not the only one. These brake pads are found in almost all modern cars. This material is used to make almost all OEM factory pad.

Ceramic brake pads, which are most expensive, are used in more powerful vehicles. They absorb heat from sudden stops and reduce brake dust, but they are also more abrasive than organic or semi-metallic pads. Ceramic brake pads cost more than semi-metallic or organic pads. Ceramic brake pads are also less effective under extreme conditions, but they do offer superior braking performance. These brake pads usually last longer than organic ones.
